Black Broilers were developed by introducing dominant black genes into the Cornish Rock cross whose plumage is recessively white. Black Broiler chicks are black, with a white chest, wing tips and abdomen. They have single combs and clean, yellow legs and feet with a considerable amount of black. The primary adult plumage color is black, and they are characterized by their large legs and feet and deep bodies. They will grow large if properly fed, however they cannot be expected to grow as quickly or as large as a typical Cornish Rock.
